is our 5th year of bringing you the highest quality of Independent
Music, fun, entertainment and the “Idiots of the Week”
segment from the Great Smoky Mountains of Western North Carolina,
US of A.
Mainstream
media holds itself up as THE Authority on good music. I beg
to differ. It is my belief that our audience knows what they
like and suggests that people have opened their minds to other,
greater possibilities for listening entertainment. Our listening
audience and affiliates have grown by leaps and bounds.
The
achievement of recognition and growth brings us new challenges
and requires more time. The number of submissions has tripled
over the past two years and every submission must be heard and
carefully reviewed in fairness to each artist.
Most
folks are surprised to learn that we don’t make any profits
at all from producing the “On The Horizon” Radio
Show. The artists pay nothing to be heard and that’s the
way it should be. Earnings from my regular day job support both
my family and the expense of producing the show.
As
the show continues to evolve from a visionary labor of love
to a catalyst for Independent Artists world wide, our goals
and dedications must expand as well.
The
time has come for us to “kick it up” to the elevation
where some of the costs of producing the show are absorbed by
sponsors. This is also the first step in extending the length
of the show without sacrificing the existing element of high
quality entertainment.
