Welcome to the home of the "On The Horizon" Radio Show!
We are back on our domain.....back home!
From humble beginnings...
The "On The Horizon" radio show has it's origins going back to
December, 2001, when we began a segment called "Idiots of the Week"
that preceded the "New Artist Radio Top 40" show. This was in an
effort to promote the tens of thousands of Independent artists, while
bringing together music lovers everywhere. We do this by making new
music appealing and entertaining with an insane mix of bumpers,
music, and comedy. This weekly promotion of music and fun
originates from Canton, North Carolina.
We provide a platform in which independent musicians can
showcase their talents, and promote their music. The mainstream
music industry, as a whole, have set themselves up as the
authority of good music.
As a result, the industry held to a "cookie cutter" mentality,
and have become stale. It is my belief that
our audience knows what they like and suggests that people have opened their minds to other, greater
possibilities for listening entertainment.
We have interviewed music superstars like Charlie Daniels, Aaron Tippin, Mark Chesnutt, recording
artist and pianist Bill Mays, Doug Grey of the "Marshall Tucker Band", Artie Kornfeld ("Woodstock" producer
and former Capitol Records Vice President).
Starting from one station in 2001, "On the Horizon" has expanded to be heard in five different countries,
on 21 different radio stations, with approximately seven million listeners! We hope to be heard around the
world by 2015!
It is our goal to inform listeners all over the world that there are alternative sources of programming
and entertainment that will not insult your intelligence, yet provide a new and refreshing sources of quality
entertainment.
We play completely independent music! We do not play material that a different party still carries under,
copywrite laws. We have our own separate agreements with artists that certify that they have all rights and
privileges to what they are submitting for airplay. This helps provide you, the listener, with a great new and
fresh perspective on the music of tomorrow!
We hope you will sit back and enjoy the new horizon in broadcasting. Get your peanuts and popcorn ready,
the "On the Horizon" radio show is on the air!
